Fees are including all conference activities (except pre-conference tour), conference documents, conference reception and conference dinner, lunch and refreshments. 

The expense of every single meal is less than 60 €.

For presenters: The inclusion of accepted papers in the conference proceedings requires that the payment of the registration fee is received not later than 15 June 2019. 
A maximum of two papers is allowed per presenter. 

Terms of Cancellation

Cancellation of participation can only be refunded if the cancellation is received in time:

by 16 July 2019: 50% of the participation fee
from 17 July 2019: no refund possible

The participation fee for presenting authors (for all kinds of presentations) whose papers were accepted for the programme cannot be refunded in any case.

Pre-conference tour to ship's hoist Niederfinow

The Niederfinow boat lift, which was commissioned on March 21, 1934, is the oldest working ship lift in Germany. It lies at the eastern end of the Oder-Havel-Kanal in Niederfinow / Brandenburg and overcomes a difference in altitude of 36 meters.
It is a protected industrial monument according to the Hague Convention on the Protection of Cultural Property in Armed Conflicts.
Parallel, the New Ship’s Hoist Niederfinow is being built, which will meet the parameters of a Class V European waterway, thus meeting European standards and will replace the old hoist by 2025 at the latest.

Get-together and laboratory visits at BAM

The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a senior scientific and technical Federal institute with responsibility to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
BAM tests, researches and advises to protect people, the environment and material goods and sets and represents high standards for safety in technology and chemistry for Germany and for its global markets.
After welcome we invite you for snacks and drinks. From 19:30 h laboratory visits take place in department 7 „Safety of Structures“ and department 8 „Non-Destructive Testing”.
At 20:30 h and 21:00 h busses will bring you back to conference hotel in Potsdam.

Visa required?

Visitors for many non-EU countries need a visa.

You should apply immediately to the German consular office or embassy in your country in order to avoid delay and other inconveniences. The visa application procedure can take up to severeal months.

Official Invitation

Holders of some passports may require an official to obtain a visa.

We assist you by processing an official invitation letter on request. Therefore we need the following information:

  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Passport number

After payment of the registration fee, we will process your request for issuing the official invitation. We will send it to you by e-mail. If you need the hard copy of the invitation letter by express delivery service, we will charge a service fee of 50.- €.
